The determinant of comfort
The first element of comfort in contact with the skin is contact with the fabric. I haven't explored this deeply. I think the cotton fabric should be good, breathable and soft according to my daily dressing experience. Because it fits the body, if the ventilation is poor, it must be sultry, not soft enough, and it must be flustered. Therefore, ventilation and softness should be the basic conditions. On this basis, such as easy to clean, wrinkle resistant, flexible fabrics are also good functions.
The second element should be interior materials. This should be the key to determine the comfort of the couch, and it is also the place where I have been struggling for a long time. At present, there are two kinds of suitable filling materials in the market, namely, expanded polystyrene (eps) and expanded polypropylene (epp). Generally speaking, they are similar to small particles of plastic foam, but there are many ways to choose.
From the perspective of process, epp is an upgraded version of eps. The disadvantage of eps is that it is not environmentally friendly, non degradable, and has great harm to the environment. At the same time, it will release toxic gas when burning. If the production process is not up to standard, it will have a pungent smell in daily situations. In order to solve the above problems, people invented the epp material, which has solved the shortcomings of eps while retaining almost all the functions of eps, and its resilience and toughness are no less than that of eps. Of course, the cost increase caused by this has become its defect. But because the time of its appearance is not as long as eps, it is far inferior to eps in terms of manufacturing technology and economy.
